Chamber Safety Flags,
commonly call (CF) Chamber Flag, or
(ECI)Empty Chamber Indicators are devices that are designed to be highly
visible so as to alert everyone in the vicinity that your firearm’s chamber is
empty and free of ammunition. This is all to avoid negligent discharges.
They are required equipment at most competition shooting events.
Chamber safety flags are used when handling any rifle or firearm, in training
or gun range settings the action must be open to show an empty chamber
/ barrel. Gun actions must remain open except when the gun is on the firing line
and preparation or firing periods have begun.
Chamber flags fit into the bore (barrel) of the rifle indicating the firearm
is unloaded and safe during storage completion and training.
The bright colors used are red orange or yellow are to enhance situation
awareness for the safety everyone in its vicinity.
