    Solid Copper Vintage Simplex Whistling Tea Kettle w/ Lid and Handle, Made In England.
    Wonderful vintage solid copper whistling teakettle. The bottom is marked with the following:
    THE "SIMPLEX" PATENT KETTLE - GUARANTEED SOLID COPPER - MADE IN ENGLAND and PATENTS Nos 400709-402190 REGdNo 786743
    The spout is marked with PATNo423201.
    The lid has a cap-like whistle top with a steam escape slot, the spout has an inner ball crimped to aid in regulating the water flow. The handle sides are brass with a black painted wooden handle grip. The kettle has a tin lining. Holds 2+ quarts - not sure of exact amount. It measures approximately 8 1/2” high including the handle, and has a 7 1/2" base diameter. This copper kettle has a nice vintage copper patina, but has been used and does have a few small scratches and a very slight ding in one spot (as pictured) from normal wear and tear. It has not been cleaned or shined. The interior is in very good condition, and the whistler works.
