Vintage Coppercraft Guild Kettle W/Wrought Iron Warming Station & Candle Holder. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground
I used to live in an old house in Shalersville, Ohio. That house had the greatest big country kitchen. I looked high and low for something to put on top of my Hoosier cabinet. You know, something useful but looking like it always belonged in this kitchen. About 40 years ago, I found the perfect item--a great old copper kettle that hung on a wrought iron warming stand with its original copper and brass candle holder. When I bought it, the kettle and the candle holder had that wonderful warm patina that complimented the Hoosier so well.
About 20 years ago, I sold the house and the Hoosier but I couldn’t part with my hanging kettle, certain I would find the perfect place for it in the new house.
But I’m selling it now because I must move again to a smaller home.
The kettle is marked Coppercraft Guild, Taunton, Mass. (see picture) but it is quite different from all the other shiny Coppercraft items up online. It isn’t shiny and bright. It is has that rich copper patina that we who collect vintage/aged copper love. According to most histories of Coppercraft Guild, the company was started in 1973 and it specialized in that bight, shiny copper finish. But there are other sources that emphasize that Coppercraft Guild started in 1949 and there are many reminiscences online from men who worked in the factory decades before 1973.
Here’s my thought…this is from Coppercraft Guild from 1949 before it developed that shining non dulling finish. The dimension of the wrought iron stand also suggest the earlier period.
The kettle measures 7-1/2 in. high (with it hanging from the warning stand). It is about 10 in wide from spout to side and about 7 in. deep. The kettle has a warm, old copper finish with wonderful patina.
The wrought iron stand is taller than some of the later ones. It measures about 17 high, 11 wide and 9 deep. The brass and copper warmer measures about 7 in. by 3-1/2 in wide. It has its original top and
    the full handle.
As far as I can tell, it is complete. I don’t see any bumps or dents but even if there were I don’t think it would detract from its charm. AND you will helping Feeding America, which runs food banks across the nation. A portion of the proceeds of this sale go to Feeding America.
Patina, Charm, and Charity. Who could ask for anything more?
