    Description

Vintage Guilloche Enamel Cufflinks Sterling Silver Art Deco Nouveau Oslo Norway
1" long by just under ½" wide, hinged cufflinks.  They are in excellent unpolished condition.  There are no chips or cracks.  We see in some photos there appears to be a darkened line on one.  It is a darker color, but not a crack or a hairline, it's just darker there.  There is a light scuff though.
Made by Olav Fridtjof Hjortdahl (1887-1954). He was trained in 1905 by Clement Berg. Later he worked with both Aksel Holmsen and Ole Olberg. He settled in Oslo in 1914 and established the Bernard Meldahl workshop which specialised in
    enamel
pieces of jewellery. Bernard Meldahl left in 1931 and Olav Hjortdahl continued under his own name O.F.Hjortdal. When heHjortdahl died in 1954 his son Tore Hjortdahl business.
